Esatto lye stain old oak

Old oak lye stain from Esatto is dark brown with a small hint of grey. On spruce/pine this turns out a bit paler than on oak and teak, which is why we recommend combining this with a wax varnish on spruce/pine. If you prefer a grey effect, we recommend wax varnish stone grey or soft taupe. If you prefer to emphasise warm tones, we recommend wax varnish thick pine or walnut.

Lye stain is a colour stain that can be used for various purposes, for example to age or grey furniture. The product is intended to be applied to oak, scaffolding wood, pine or teak.

In the wood photos you see in the middle the wood that is untreated, the light color next to it is treated once with lye stain. The dark color is treated twice with lye stain.

You can apply different layers, entirely to your liking. The more layers, the darker the effect will be. That is why it is wise to test a piece on a bottom or side first. Yield: 8-10 m2 per liter strongly dependent on the type and porosity of the substrate.
